It's commonly known that the Toyota Tacoma offers the drivers of Medford, OR rugged utility; for instance, the 2014 example is standardly equipped with a hearty 2.7-liter engine which helps the automaker's flagship truck boast a towing capacity to the tune of 3,500 pounds.

That's quite powerful, but we digress. You see the point is that the origination of the Tacoma pickups in our Lithia Toyota of Medford showroom is not as commonly known as the model's performance specs. Fortunately, if you're curious, we're pleased to report that these trucks are assembled in one of the Japanese automaker's facilities here in the United States.

Specifically, the brand's plant in Baja, California is responsible for the production of a tallied 57,000 units every year. Furthermore, the same facility assembles 200,000 truck beds annually. Happily, this factory has been churning out high-quality Tacoma models for the last ten years.

Yes, production at the Toyota Baja facility began back in 2003 and in recognition of its tenth anniversary the automaker is contributing $10,000 to the efforts of the area's Boys and Girls Club of Tecate.

But wait, there's more. In addition to Tacoma donations, Toyota is donating three Tacoma trucks to nearby nonprofit partners: the Children's Foundation in Tecate and the Red Cross and Fire Brigade in Tijuana. The heavy utility of these pickups will no doubt help the centers in their forthcoming endeavors.

Speaking of which, to see if the Tacoma matches your automotive needs, then we welcome you to visit our new Toyota experts. During your stopover we're happy to arrange test drives and answer any questions.
