It's a comprehensive celebration of the best used vehicles across 19 different segments, and for anyone looking to invest in some new wheels, it's a bonafide godsend. As for how they vetted the competition, they looked at every model sold from 2006-2011 and evaluated them according to their reliability, availability, value and safety standards as determined by industry experts and owner experiences.
From there, the winners were announced. So when we saw our very own Toyota Highlander earn top honors in the Best Used Midsize SUV/Crossover category, we couldn't help but agree with what they had to say about it.
"Ever since its debut back in 2001 as one of the first midsize crossovers, the Toyota Highlander has offered pleasant driving dynamics, a comfortable ride and plenty of cargo capacity," say the editor at Edmunds.com. "Of course, consumers have also been attracted to Toyota's longstanding reputation for reliability and low upkeep costs and, one Highlanders equipped with all-wheel drive, the confidence to handle foul-weather driving conditions."1
