Unless you drive a bike to work, and unless you do it blindfolded, chances you've noticed the way gas prices have been going this summer. With that said, it's no surprise that our hybrids and EVs are more popular than ever here at Lithia Toyota of Medford. But with this industry of ours getting greener by the minute, deciding on the right fuel-efficient four-wheeler isn't getting any easier.
Lucky for all of us, the Automobile Club's Automotive Research Center (ARC) has us covered with the recent release of their 2013 Green Car Guide.
Like the name implies, the Green Car Guide is an annual breakdown of every hybrid, EV, etc. on the market. It makes it easier than ever for interested buyers to get the most eco-friendly bang for their buck and in turn raises the bar for automakers looking to corner the market. And now that they've named our very own 2013 Toyota RAV4 EV the green car to beat, we just couldn't be prouder.
As for how it earned top honors across the board, we'll let the experts to the explaining.
"Toyota, partnering with Tesla, has produced an impressive full electric compact SUV that is the top scoring Green Car ever tested by the Auto Club's Automotive Research Center," says Steve Mazor, Chief Engineer and Manager at the ARC. "The RAV4 EV has excellent acceleration, zero tailpipe emissions and a real 100+ mile range, while maintaining roominess and flexibility."1
So if you'd like to experience all the award-winning qualities of the RAV4 EV for yourself, your test drive awaits you at our dealership here in Medford, OR. Mother Earth and your wallet sure would appreciate it.
