When you think about a car that is built in America, you might expect the top contenders to be those made by American-based brands. Long, long ago, that may have been the case -- but today's automotive market is global. Even if a vehicle is assembled in the U.S., it may well be that all of its parts come from overseas.

How is one to untangle the woven web of resources, and figure out which vehicles are truly the most American? Cars.com does that for us each year with the Cars.com American-Made Index (AMI).

The 2016 Toyota Camry was ranked at number-one again this year, with the Toyota Sienna close behind in third place on the AMI. This means both models are assembled domestically, with at least 75 percent domestic parts and components.

Though those models were our only two to make the AMI this year, the majority of our new inventory is assembled in the United States, including the Toyota Tundra and Tacoma, both exclusively manufactured in San Antonio, Texas. Visit Lithia Toyota of Medford to learn more!
